Skill Challenge FAQ

1. Why am I receiving emails from innovate@futurethink.com? Can I unsubscribe?

Your employer has provided us with a list of learners who’d like to participate in our FutureThink Skill Activation Challenge. If you think you’ve been added to this list by mistake, please reach out to your employer first. If you’d like to participate, you’ll receive daily challenge emails from us for 20 days, beginning at your official challenge start date. After that, we’ll remove your email address from our system, and you will not receive any future emails from us unless you proactively sign up for our newsletter.

2. I’ve missed the signup deadline. Can I still join?

It depends! We’d love for everyone to enjoy our challenge, but we can only give access to people who are on our list of approved learners, provided by your employer. If you’ve gotten on that list and are simply late to set up your account you can still do so at any time. However, if you haven’t been added to that list in the first place we are not allowed to give you access. We recommend you reach out to your employer and express your interest in participating in potential future challenges. Hopefully, we’ll run another one soon, and you can be included in the next one!

3. Why didn’t I receive a welcome email?

It is most likely that the welcome email landed in your spam, junk, or the “other” folder (if you use Microsoft). Please search those folders separately for a message including the word “Challenge” from either your employer or innovate@futurethink.com and be sure to mark it as safe for future emails, move it to your inbox or “focused” folder and add us to your contacts. If you still can’t find it, please reach out to the FutureThink team at innovate@futurethink.com so we can check our email logs and make sure that we have your correct email address or ask your employer to resend you that email.

4. What’s my username?

Your username is the exact email address that was provided to us by the program sponsor, which should be your work email address.

5. I’ve signed up for the challenge with my employer but have not received any activities from you.

Telling your employer you’d like to participate was the first step. After that, you’ll receive a welcome email from them or us 2-3 weeks before your challenge start date prompting you to set up your account. You may receive another reminder email but other than that you will not receive further communication until your challenge start date, which is referenced in the welcome email. Beginning on the challenge start date you will receive one email for each challenge day from us. We will not email you on the weekend or on any holidays your employer has made us aware of. If you plan to take time off during this period, you can always log back in later to catch up once you have time. All in all, you’ll have access to your challenge for 6 months.

6. Why won’t the system accept the password I selected?

Passwords must be at least 9 characters, include at least one numeric character, a capital letter, and a special symbol (!#$_-&*). Once you’ve come up with a safe password, you’ll see the button below the password field turn green.

7. When I attempt to register, I get an error message stating, “Access Denied” or “Forbidden – you don’t have permissions to access this URL” What should I do?

In this case, please contact the FutureThink team at innovate@futurethink.com. Either your email address wasn’t on the list of participants provided by your employer, or on rare occasions, your login attempt was blocked due to a previous malicious login attempt in your region (great server security is a double-edged sword). Both issues are easy to fix so you will be able to access your challenge in no time.

8. I keep getting an error message saying “Sorry, that username already exists!”

The good news is, you’ve apparently already set up your account successfully. Instead of logging in on the account SIGN UP page, click on the “Already have an account? Log in here” link on that page to log into your account. If you’ve forgotten your password you can ask for a password reset link on the LOG IN page. If you're still unable to log in, please contact us at innovate@futurethink.com and we’ll set up a temporary password for you.

9. I am trying to log in but when I click on “Log In” nothing happens OR even though I have reset my password and I’m logging in with the new password, it doesn’t work.

This is an issue that often occurs on Google Chrome browsers (autofill can be a blessing and a curse). Please clear your cache and cookies and refresh your browser. Then try to log in again. Make sure you spell your username correctly and delete any password your browser might auto-fill in your password field. Then type in your exact password once again. If you’re still unable to log in please reach out to us at innovate@futurethink.com. Sending us a screenshot/screen video of your issue is always particularly helpful to resolve your issue swiftly.

10. I’ve received your welcome email and set up my account but I didn’t get my daily challenge emails.

First, please check the official start date of your challenge. If your challenge should have started already and you didn’t receive your daily email, please double-check your spam, junk, or the “other” folder (if you use Microsoft). Please search those folders for a message from innovate@futurethink.com and be sure to mark it as safe for future emails, move it to your inbox or “focused” folder and add us to your contacts. If you still can’t find it, please reach out to the FutureThink team at innovate@futurethink.com so we can take a closer look at your account. In the meantime, you can always proactively log into your challenge dashboard and find a recap of your daily challenge email there.

11. I’ve arrived at the last day of my challenge but I can’t download my certificate.

You should see a list of days that haven’t been marked as complete at the top of your challenge dashboard. Please go back to these days and check if you’ve answered all questions and filled out all answer forms. Our system doesn’t save a challenge as completed if some of the answer fields are empty. If you don’t have text in one of the answer fields because you don’t know the answer/don’t think it applies, simply fill in “NA”. If you already have text in ALL fields please simply add a full stop to each field, just to be sure. And if you’re concerned that the issue lies with the multiple choice questions, you can always momentarily select a different option, then select your initial option again and then hit save. If you need assistance contact us at innovate@futurethink.com

12. How do I add my challenge certificate to my LinkedIn account?

Here is a little how-to video that shows the process visually, step-by-step: https://streamable.com/ij0ubs

But basically, all you have to do is:

  1. Hit the “share on LinkedIn” button

  2. Then click the ‘Copy URL’ button on the right side next to the URL form

  3. Go to your LinkedIn account and scroll down to your “Licenses and Certifications” section

  4. Hit the ‘+’ button and type in the name of the certificate, add us as the issuing organization, select the date you’ve received the certificate, paste the URL in the “Credential URL” field at the bottom of the LinkedIn pop up and hit save

And you should be all set – the certificate should now show up at the top of the list of your certificates.
